Braunstein Niels Juel Akvavit

This aquavit is the ‘flagship’ among our schnapps and named after the sea hero Niels Juel, who by his ingenuity and expertise beat a numerically superior Swedish fleet at the battle of Køge Bay in 1677.
The aquavit is spiced with Braunstein’s special spice blend and to achieve additional finesse, complexity and roundness to the taste, we have stored it in large wooden barrels that previously contained Oloroso sherry. A distinguished companion for lunch. The fine taste unfolds best at room temperature.

Sweet licorice, fennel, coriander, orange peel, finely assembled by sweet and vinous aromas from the sherry dish.
