Product Description

36 Proof • 18% ABV

Named after the Mistral, a fierce northwesterly wind that blows in the spring, Macchia’s white vermouth is based on Vermentino and Moscato wines from Sardinia (Olbia is a center of Vermentino production).

18 botanical substances are individually infused in pure grain alcohol before being added to the blend; they include myrtle* leaves, flowers and berries, a very distinctive local citrus type called Pompia*, elderflower*, chamomile*, helichrysum*, licorice*, mint*, juniper berry*, orange, and lemon. Cane sugar is used for sweetness, 160 grams per liter, which is lower than most white and red vermouth on the market.

The Macchia Maestrale Vermouth Bianco is produced with traditional methods, without haste, and matured for a long time. The Sardinian wines, herbs, spices, and citrus fruits give this vermouth great character. There is a distinct citrus persistence of the Pompia (native citrus fruit). Te traditional processing of infusions gives the finished product an incomparable elegance. It offers soft floral scents to the nose accompanied by the typical notes of myrtle and juniper.
